Meet Our Doctor

  • Dr.
    Judy Lipka

Dr. Judy Lipka was born and raised in metropolitan Detroit. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree then received her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree Magna cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College in 1982. Dr. Lipka holds licenses to practice chiropractic in Alabama and Michigan.

Dr. Lipka chose a career in chiropractic after personal injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  Both she and her father were led on a “last resort” path to recovery through chiropractic care following failed attempts of conventional interventions. Dr. Lipka and her father both decided to attend Life College.  After graduation, she moved to Mobile to start a practice near her father who opened his practice in Baldwin County. Though a resident of Mobile, Dr. Lipka is a two time recipient of the Baldwin County Chiropractor of the Year award.

Dr. Lipka became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician in 1994. She has been an active volunteer for ProSport Chiropractic, an organization dedicated to providing chiropractic sports care to athletes and to promoting athletic excellence through chiropractic. She has donated her services to athletes of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, onsite, at rodeos in the Southeastern Circuit.  In 2010, Dr. Lipka was named, Southeastern Doctor of the Circuit in recognition of her continuing dedication to and support of the profession.

Dr. Lipka earned diplomate status in chiropractic neurology from the American Chiropractic Neurology Board in 1996 and she served as a member of the examining board in 1997.   In 1998, she was awarded Fellow of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology (IACN).

Dr. Lipka has spent many years in service to the IACN and the Alabama State Chiropractic Association (ASCA) and has served as a two term president of both organizations, concurrently. She has served in a multitude of leadership capacities for these groups.  She has worked to bring cutting edge, state of the art professional seminars and speakers to benefit member doctors and their patients.

Dr. Lipka is one of a very select few who is a three time recipient of the prestigious ASCA Chiropractor of the Year Award.  She has worked diligently to make the Alabama State Chiropractic Association the “go-to” resource for members. She has been a strong advocate for the profession working through legislative avenues to help the profession while staunchly guarding the existing laws created to protect the rights of chiropractors and freedom of choice in healthcare for the citizens of Alabama.

As ASCA president, Dr. Lipka established a forum for Women in Chiropractic to foster fellowship and networking opportunities among women doctors of chiropractic, to mentor them in their roles as physicians and leaders and to share solutions to the unique challenges women face as caretakers, physicians and leaders.

During her tenure as president, the ASCA partnered with the University of Alabama to initiate a randomly controlled trial that will compare treatment outcomes of chiropractic care with those of conventional medical care in patients who have been selected by surgeons prior to lumbar spinal fusion surgery. This is an ongoing project and a unique enterprise in the state of Alabama.

Dr. Lipka serves as a member of the Participating Chiropractic Advisory Committee to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.  She has also served on the Complementary Medicine Committee for Providence Hospital.

Dr. Lipka is a registered medical examiner on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s National Registry of Certified Medical examiners. She has completed the required training and testing concerning the Federal physical qualifications and standards for truck and bus drivers and possesses the professional credentials to perform physical qualification examinations for commercial motor vehicle drivers in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Dr. Lipka continues to maintain an active private family practice in Mobile, Alabama, now, for over 30 years.
